Today I have just finished reading Divergent. Spoiler Alert! The main character, Tris Prior lives in the future version of Chicago where there are 5 factions, each one thinking their virtue is the best. The 5 factions are dauntless, erudite, abnegation, amity, and candor. Tris was a part of abnegation growing up but she decides to join dauntless when she is 16 because she doesn't feel like she is selfless enough to be a part of abnegation. Throughout the book Tris learns that she is divergent and she doesn't actually belong to a faction. As the book goes on you learn that Four (a trainer) is also divergent. Once he learns that she is divergent, Four helps Tris think and act like dauntless so that she can pass her exam. Towards the end of the book erudite is trying to take over and control the city by injecting everyone with a liquid that will make them do anything erudite says and they are also doing this in an effort to get rid of divergents because they are seen as a threat. Four and Tris are both divergents and they go to shut down this operation but have many obstacles which they obviously overcome and they end the reign of erudite. I would rate this book a 3.5 out of 5 because it was predictable and didn't have any major surprises. Overall I still think it is a good book and would recommend it to anyone who like anything related dystopia/eutopia.

Eldest summary

This is the second book in the Inheritance Cycle. SPOILER ALERT!!! This book takes place in the aftermath of the battle in the first book. Eragon realizes that his magical powers are weak and that he needs to math them stronger if he ever wants to beat Galbatorix and his army. He needs to go to the land of the elves to train with the best of the best. Meanwhile in Carvahall, Roran is looking to marry his love, Katrina, but the Ra'zac come to Carvahall looking to destroy Roran but end up capturing Katrina after the villagers put up a good fight. Roran travels in search of Eragon. Once he finds Eragon, they travel to Ellesmera(the land of the elves). Here Eragon learns how to use his powers well and he becomes much stronger both mentally and physically. In this time, though, Galbatorix's army becomes extremely strong forcing Eragon to go back to where the Varden are. When they arrive the battle is about to begin. Eragon is fighting mightily but during the battle another Dragon Rider appears, Murtagh. Eragon's friend has vowed to fight for Galbatorix. Murtagh is stronger than Eragon but leaves Eragon to flee. Eragon and Roran then go to try and rescue Katrina. This is where the book ends. I thought this book was very good although at times it moved very slow and it was hard to read at such a slow pace. Some of the things in this book, I feel, also repeated themselves from the first book. Overall this book was decent, but nowhere near as good as the first one. I give this book a 4 out of 5 and definitely recommend this book if you like action and mystery.

I have finally finished reading Eragon and loved the story. I thought that the plot was amazing with tons of unexpected plot twists. Due to all these unexpected turns in the plot the book was very interesting. All of the characters were well developed and dynamic characters. The story did a good job of emphasizing how the changed throughout the story, both physically and mentally. Eragon has matured through his journey around Alagaesia, he hasn't mastered his powers yet but he is well on his way there. He matures in the sense that he now truly understands the meaning of life and that it isn't worth taking a life to save a life. The only problems I have with this book is that I, personally, think that the story moves to slow and it is just dragging. It's as if some things are inserted just for the sake of being there, they don't have a true value or purpose in the story and advancing the plot. Since this is a series the book doesn't really end here. I think that this is a very good story with a very good plot and that it would have been an even better book if it were a little more fast paced, but still I would rate this book a 4 out of 5. This is the first book in the series and ends with a cliffhanger and you'll have to finish the series if you truly want to finish the book. Only another 2000 pages to go.

Onto blog #2!! I am about halfway done with the book Eragon and so far think it is an absolutely amazing book. By this point in the book so much has happened, so many plot twists and things that I never saw coming. During every second Eragon is fighting for his life along with Roran(Eragons's cousin), Saphira and Brom(Eragon's Trainer). They are trying kill the Ra'zac, which are basically creatures that look like birds and are fierce warriors(you get the point). The Ra'zac are creatures that you don't want to mess with but they caused trouble to Carvahall so Eragon goes to seek them out. Their "mission", so you could say, is to  stop the Ra'zac. Along the way they meet with the Varden which was a group of people and other creatures that were looking to stop Galbatorix, who is a evil king(as you learned in the last post) that is trying to conquer all the lands of Alagaesia. That's all for this post. You'll have to hold all your questions until next time. Will Eragon save Katrina? Will Galbatorix pay for enslaving the people? Will Eragon master being a Dragonrider? You'll just have to tune in to see how everything will play out(I still need to finish the book:).

I started readying Eragon by Christopher Paolini about a week ago. This book comes under the genre of fantasy(it will soon be apparent why).

Eragon is about a poor farm boy named Eragon who goes hunting in the mountains to get his family some meat. He comes upon what he thinks is a shiny blue stone, and decides to take it home with him thinking it will be worth something. Soon he finds that the "stone" he brings home is actually a dragon egg. His life was changed overnight. He entered a life with magic, and powers never thought to be possible. Him and his dragon Saphira, navigate through dangerous terrain trying to end the rule of the evil king, Galbatorix.
