So let's just get straight to the point here, no need to veer off track and waste time. So on the last post I had finished about 3/4 and finished the last post at a point where Eragon asks the blacksmith for a sword and he names it Brisingr and since the last post I have finished the rest of the book. I think that the book was great, but was indeed not the best book in the series due to its slow plot and lack of action.
Ok, let's get this trip on the road. While Saphira and Eragon are in Ellesmera to train Roran is sent on numerous missions to help the Varden. One of the missions was to attack an enemy force that was raiding a village. Roran ordered all of the enemies troops to be killed. This is looked at as cruel and Roran is punished in public for what he did. After that though Nausada, leader of the Varden, promotes Roran to commander. Once Eragon gets back to the Varden he joins the siege of Feinster where Eragon rescues the elf Arya and later discovers that 3 magicians are try to create a shade(basically and assassin). Eragon and Arya go through the city trying to kill the magicians but they are too late and the shade is created, his name is Varaug. Once this happens he sees a vision and it shows him that Glaedr, his trainer, is killed by Galbatorix and this fuels determination to kill Varaug and he is successful. This book concludes by the killing of Varaug.
As I said in my last blog post and several times after that this is definitely not the best book so far in this series but overall I would say that it is a good book and i would give it a 6.5 out of 10. The plot moves way to slow for my taste and it is also the plot is very confusing and you have to pay very close attention to understand this book fully. All in all this is a good book and I would recommend it.
