I started readying Eragon by Christopher Paolini about a week ago. This book comes under the genre of fantasy(it will soon be apparent why).
Eragon is about a poor farm boy named Eragon who goes hunting in the mountains to get his family some meat. He comes upon what he thinks is a shiny blue stone, and decides to take it home with him thinking it will be worth something. Soon he finds that the "stone" he brings home is actually a dragon egg. His life was changed overnight. He entered a life with magic, and powers never thought to be possible. Him and his dragon Saphira, navigate through dangerous terrain trying to end the rule of the evil king, Galbatorix.

Wow, that was an amazing description of the plot (without revealing spoilers). I already read this book and I recommend it to all fans of the fantasy genre.
ReplyDeleteI think I remember reading this story, then I read this post, and it really helped me remember the story. This is a very good post considering you release the plot without giving out spoilers (like Arjan said). Maybe I will give this novel a chance again.
ReplyDeleteI remembered reading this book in sixth grade. It had a really nice plot line that appealed to me back then. This is a great description that would convince me to read the book. I would like to see some good quotes to see the action.

ReplyDeleteI read this book and thought it was okay, but not great. The plot and description was great, however, I thought that the story was stretched a little long and the story was too slow paced for my liking.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that the author, Christopher Paolini, was only fifteen when he wrote this book? I mean, wow. That's impressive.
